TERMS AND CONDITIONS
RESERVATION & BOOKING POLICY
To confirm a safari booking, a deposit is required as a commitment to proceed with the agreed itinerary. The deposit percentage depends on the type of safari package selected and the arrangements made with the tour consultant.
Budget Safaris
A 20% deposit of the total safari cost is required to confirm the booking. The remaining balance is payable upon arrival or on the day the safari begins.
Mid-Range & Lodge Safaris
A 30% deposit is required to secure accommodation and other advance arrangements.
Private Safaris
Private safaris require advance planning to secure transportation, accommodation, park entry fees, and other necessary arrangements. A 20% deposit is required to confirm the booking.
Kenya–Tanzania Safaris
For combined Kenya–Tanzania safaris:
- Budget safaris: 20% deposit required.
- Mid-range/lodge safaris and tented camps: 30% deposit required.
Additional Payment Information
- Credit card payments attract a 5% surcharge.
- All payments must be made to AMBOMARA AFRICAN SAFARIS.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Clients may cancel their safari subject to the following conditions:
Budget Safaris
A cancellation is eligible for a 50% refund of the deposit paid.
Mid-Range Safaris
Because advance commitments may have been made for lodges, hotels, and tented camps, clients may choose to:
- Retain the booking and transfer it to a future travel date; or
- Receive a 40% refund of the deposit paid.
Private Safaris
Refunds depend on the type of private safari booked:
- Budget private safaris: 50% of the deposit paid will be refunded.
- Lodge/private lodge safaris: The refundable amount will be determined based on payments already made to accommodation providers and other advance commitments, ensuring a fair settlement.
SAFARI ORIENTATION
Unless a safari is booked as a private tour, clients will share safari vehicles, facilities, and services with other travelers.
Clients are therefore encouraged to be good-natured, flexible, and respectful of fellow travelers throughout the safari.
Travelers should also be prepared to experience customs, traditions, lifestyles, and habits that may differ from their own. These differences are part of the authentic travel and safari experience.
CHANGES TO ITINERARIES
The agreed itinerary will normally be followed as planned. However, AMBOMARA AFRICAN SAFARIS reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the sequence or arrangements where necessary due to weather conditions, road works, high-season congestion, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Where changes are necessary, the company will make reasonable efforts to maintain the overall safari experience and agreed destinations.
LIABILITY
The company’s liability to passengers traveling in vehicles for transfers, excursions, and tours is governed by the laws of Kenya, and all claims are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
While every reasonable care is taken to ensure the safety and security of clients and their belongings, the company shall not be held liable for loss of or damage to personal property.
Clients are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering personal belongings, medical emergencies, trip cancellation, delays, and other unforeseen circumstances.
